Dear Professor Kaunda,

The Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) Co-Directors would like to extend our

warmest congratulations to you on your appointment as Vice-Chancellor of

LUANAR. In our personal capacities and as members of the wider AAP family, we

collectively and individually know you as a solid scholar, a passionate scientist, a

vibrant teacher and a great leader in higher education. As a friend, we know you

have worked hard to reach this point, and we are happy that you have been

recognized for your accomplishments with this new assignment. It is well deserved.

As AAP, we trust that you will continue to work towards the consolidation of the

AAP and LUANAR partnership.

As you know, recently LUANAR formally appointed Prof Richard Mkandawire and Dr. Tony Milanzi as Adjunct Professor and Adjunct Research Fellow respectively. These appointments not only recognize the long-standing relationship between AAP and LUANAR, but they will also provide greater impetus to AAP to provide further support in strategic engagements with government, donors, regional and global stakeholders.

As AAP we look forward to continued support to LUANAR in broader areas of networking and partnerships management, resource mobilization, teaching, and collaboration in research among others. At the opportune time, once you settle in, we would be keen to arrange a meeting to discuss specific areas that might mutually reinforce the growing partnership between AAP and LUANAR.

Once again, on behalf of the AAP family and on our own behalf, we sincerely congratulate you on a well-deserved accomplishment.

Sincerely,

Richard Mkandawire Africa Director, AAP
