AAP Bridge is an online platform that allows users to connect and collaborate with others within the AAP consortium network and beyond. The platform is open to anyone from outside and within the consortium to establish a broad network of faculty, staff, students, and others committed to addressing global challenges that impact Africa and beyond. Users can build their profile, create posts, share articles and research, and find or post calls for grants, funding, fellowships, conferences, publications, and other opportunities. Pathways can be created which function as broadly accessible professional development resources. Users can make connections based on shared interests, the site allows for direct messaging among users to streamline collaboration. Users can also form teams on the platform to pursue funding opportunities.
Who can join Bridge
AAP Bridge is open to everyone! Anyone from within and outside the AAP member consortium can now join AAP Bridge. The Bridge platform has been created with scholars, students, early career researchers, faculty, administrators, and others in mind. Additionally, the website is designed to amplify the voices of Africans and African research, which are often underrepresented and underfunded. AAP Bridge is made for any individual to share interests of any region, research topic, or professional background. In short, AAP Bridge is for all!
Updates and New Features
AAP Bridge is a constantly evolving and improving platform, with regular updates and implementation of new features. This year, the Bridge has undergone a system-wide upgrade that showcases a visual overhaul, file collection and sharing function, and opens the platform beyond our consortium. Features to be expected in the future include calendar functions for events and a mobile app for on-the-go use.
Within the "Help" section on AAP Bridge, you will find a series of "how-to" videos to assist you in creating a profile, navigating the site, creating a post, searching for people and content, and finding funding opportunities.
