Elephant walking through savanah in the eveningI’m so glad I chose this study abroad program. It was extremely well organized and well thought-out by the program directors and the staff at the Southern African Wildlife College where we stayed. I felt very safe and if I were to have any problems, they would be handled well. The program directors were very knowledgeable and accommodating.

All the students on the program  were down to earth and I feel as though I made many friends I will have for the rest of my life.

I enjoyed the content of the program and learned so much. It even influenced some of my future career aspirations.

I would recommend this program to anyone who has interest in animals/wildlife, conservation, disease, and the environment. Assignments had me think and reflect without taking away from enjoying the program and being in the moment. I enjoyed South Africa and the culture there and I felt like it left me more open-minded and aware of places outside of the United States.

I think if education abroad is something you’re interested in at all, make sure to pursue it. There are people and ways to help you finance a program and work it into your education. It will not make you take longer to graduate it could speed up the process. While abroad I was also taking an online class that was completely unrelated and had plenty of time to work on it while View from high atop a mountain in South Africastill enjoying my traveling.
