Japan and JCMU changed my life. I went to Japan knowing that I would grow in character and knowledge, but I was unprepared for the sheer amount of incredible experiences that I would get to have. I met some of the most amazing people, and made some of my best friends. Perhaps my favorite memory of Japan was getting to volunteer in the English classroom, because I met a friend who I now consider family. Interacting with residents of Japan were the most enriching moments and perhaps also the most challenging. It would have been easier to utilize translation apps, or not be adventurous but, by making the effort to communicate, learn the customs, and respect the community, I had so many incredible conversations, and felt like I was actually connected to the people I was living amongst. Embracing my experiences there meant I left Japan as a place I call home. My life has been changed irrevocably and I could not be happier for it. Japan was one of the best experiences of my life.

When asked about what advice that she would give to prospective students, she said the following:

I cannot recommend JCMU enough. If you think you want to go to Japan, JCMU is going to give you a challenging, well-rounded, life-changing experience in Japan. Let yourself face the challenge and don't be afraid to make the mistakes when learning. JCMU is going to make you feel like you can take on anything in Japan.
