AAP Coronavirus Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Like much of the world, Michigan State University has taken unprecedented measures to ensure the safety of our community and mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This includes canceling in-person classes, suspending non-essential travel, postponing spring commencement, and transitioning employees to remote work whenever possible.

To support these efforts, the MSU office of the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) is adhering to social distancing guidelines by temporarily closing our office and continuing our work remotely. Our Africa office remains open, but also has limited in-person activities at this time. While the disruption to our normal operations is inevitable, AAP’s first priority will always be the health and safety of its community members.

During this time, we ask for your understanding as developments related to COVID-19 require additional adjustments to our programs and application timelines. AAP will do its best to provide timely updates on our website and social media and we encourage specific programmatic questions to be emailed directly to the appropriate point of contact. General office-related questions should be directed to aap(at)msu.edu.

Now more than ever, the need to conduct collaborative, transdisciplinary and multiregional research to address global challenges is evident and AAP remains committed to this goal. Bridges must be built to bring together partners who can work on these complex problems from multiple fields. Additionally, there is a renewed need to transform institutions so they can unlock the human capital that will contribute to solutions and transform lives. Our work continues and is all the more urgent.

We hope that you remain safe and healthy during these trying times. For more information on the novel coronavirus and MSU’s response to it, please visit www.msu.edu/coronavirus and/or use their toll-free number: +1-888-353-1294.

Wishing you all the very best,

The Alliance for African Partnership, MSU Office
