Noah and friend sitting behind broadcast booth at the Chelsea Football ClubMy program in London was better than I ever anticipated it could have been. I think being there greatly enhanced and deepened my understanding of the political process. By immersing myself in a system remarkably different from what I’m used to, I feel that I have gained a new dimension to how I learn about the processes back in the USA. Having a new separate touchpoint allows me to approach political issues from a new angle, and I have no doubt that this new approach will only serve to strengthen my learning in class.

Additionally, I believe this experience was one of the best ways that Michigan State could have prepared me for what lies beyond university. In my time overseas, I was tasked with campaigning for the Liberal Democrats, and the group was able to visit influential thinktanks and experience how they work internally. Both of those have given me the tools to succeed after I have earned my degree, as they have given me unique insights into key political processes that few people will ever get the chance to interact with.

Overall, studying abroad was everything I could’ve wanted and more. It enriched my academic life and set me up for a successful professional life. I am incredibly grateful to MSU for hosting such a fulfilling journey, and I can’t thank the Office of Education Abroad enough for helping to fund it by selecting me for a scholarship. It was genuinely lifechanging.
